When I was 11 years old, I attended my very first concert, One Direction and 5 Seconds of

Summer, at the New Orleans Superdome. Over the next 12 years, I saw 5 Seconds of Summer several

times, allowing them to be the soundtrack to half my life. In late 2025, the band announced the

“Everyone’s a Star Tour”, named after their newest album. If you told 11-year-old me that I would

have the chance to photograph 5SOS, I would have cried my little eyes out (ironically, that was my

reaction at 23 years old, too).

To no surprise, the crowd went wild from the moment everyone’s “favorite boyband” hit the

stage at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena. The show was broken up into six acts: I. The Peak, II. The Fall,

III. The Yearning, IV. The Breakup, V. The Rise, and VI. The Beginning. It was clear this show was

created with the fans in mind, from the stage layout to the setlist. A limousine holding Ashton Irwin’s

drumset in its hood was the centerpiece of the main stage, and the catwalk was a half-circle that came

out several sections past the main stage, with a VIP pit in the center. Between each act, the screens

showed videos to guide the storytelling aspect of the show, including throwback footage and comical

interviews from each band member.

Songs from every album were played, from "She Looks So

Perfect" to their newest album’s titular track “Everyone’s a Star”, as well as a song from each of the

boys’ solo albums they released a couple of years back. One of my favorite moments was the four of

them standing together at the center of the catwalk, performing their song “Amnesia” acoustically.

 

5SOS made it a point to “become one with the crowd”, including inviting a fan onstage to present 

band with the “Boyband of the Year Award” and allowing a fan to reveal the secret song of the night.

The show was the perfect mix of emotional nostalgia and the most fun songs to jump around to.

Being given the opportunity to photograph and attend the show was so special to me, having

grown up with this band and their music.

I might be a little biased, but the “Everyone’s a Star Tour” is

one of the best shows I have ever attended. From the incredible production to the strong connection

with their fans, 5 Seconds of Summer has done an amazing job at making this tour an amazing and

entertaining performance.
