Bleachers- by Cait Devall
Bleachers kicked off their “Bleachers Forever” tour at The Fillmore New Orleans on May 20, and the energy in the room was unreal from the moment the band hit the stage. As the first stop of the tour, there was already a level of excitement building before the show even started, and somehow it still exceeded expectations.
Jack Antonoff has a stage presence that completely takes over a room without ever feeling forced. He spent the night running across the stage, dancing around, interacting with fans, and keeping the crowd engaged every second of the set. It felt less like watching a performance and more like being part of something happening in real time alongside the band.
The crowd was just as much a part of the show as Bleachers themselves. Nearly every song turned into one giant singalong, with fans shouting lyrics back so loudly that Antonoff stepped away from the mic more than once just to let the audience take over. There was never a dull moment in the set, whether the band was leaning into the louder, chaotic energy or slowing things down for more emotional moments.
The Fillmore ended up being the perfect venue to open the tour. The room felt alive all night: loud, sweaty, emotional, and genuinely fun in the way only a Bleachers show can be. You could tell both the band and the fans had been waiting for this tour to finally start, and New Orleans gave them a pretty unforgettable first night.
