The Struts
-by Cait Devall

On September 26th at the House of Blues in Houston, The Struts didn’t just play a show, they detonated a full-force glam rock explosion that reminded everyone why live music matters.

From the moment the lights dropped and the first chord ripped through the venue, frontman Luke Spiller had the crowd in the palm of his hand. He’s a rare breed of rock star: magnetic, theatrical, and completely unstoppable, strutting across the stage with fearless energy and commanding every voice in the room to sing louder, scream harder, and feel everything. Behind him, Gethin Davies pounded the drums like a runaway train, every hit shaking the floor. Adam Slack’s guitar work sliced through the air with captivating riffs and blazing solos, while Jed Elliott held down the low end with gritty, pulsing bass lines that gave the music a heartbeat you could feel in your chest.

This wasn’t a band going through the motions. This was a masterclass in how to own a stage. The Struts fed off the crowd’s energy and gave it back tenfold, breaking down barriers between the band and audience with constant interaction, big smiles, and moments of pure chaos in the best way possible. Spiller had the crowd singing harmonies, clapping in unison, and even dropping to the floor on command, proving once again that he may be one of the greatest frontmen of this generation.

The entire room moved as one: sweaty, loud, and fully locked in. The heat was real, the adrenaline unreal. It was dramatic. It was electric. It was glam rock in its purest, most exhilarating form. The Struts didn’t just perform in Houston. They set it on fire.
